Division/Phylum: Ascomycota Class: Ascomycetes Order: Xylariales Family: Xylariaceae Habitats: Woodland Substrate: Cecropia sp. (Sand box) pods. Description: Long thin black club, with spherical structures along the fruiting body. Mushroom: 6 - 60 mm in height, ~1 mm in diameter. Stalk-like structure, white in cross section with small “balls” (asci) attached externally in one plane. Spores: Black, elliptical. Specimens: St. Andrew; Turner’s Hall Woods, (13o13.282’ N, 59o 35.125’ W), Daniel-06-44, November-02-2006. St. Thomas; Strong Hope Gully, (13o13.178’ N, 59o 31.898’ W), Daniel-07-133, March-06-07. Comments: No species description withthese particular characteristics was found.
