pm from September 5 to November 28, 2008
Practical: Every Wednesday 2:10 pm –
6:00 pm from September 10 to November 26, 2008
Class Test: October 15 – 17, 2008.
Exact date will decide in the class. It is compulsory and there will be no
supplementary test.
Examination: Class test 20%,
laboratory work 20% and final examination 60%.
Attendance: Both lecture and
practical class attendance will be recorded and a minimum 75% attendance is
expected.

Course Syllabus:
Block diagram, signal flow graphs,
frequency response, stability, steady state and transient response,
transducers, controllers and control systems fro level, temperature, speed and
position control. Sampled systems. Introduction to computer control and
robotics.
Practical: Design and simulation of
control systems using MATLAB. Implementation of control logic for motor control
using Microcontroller and PLC programming.
Note: Students must have basic idea
on programming like C, Assemble language. In case students have not done such
course, they should learn quickly by themselves. Both LCD projector and white
board will be used for presentation. Course materials are also available online
for downloading. However, students are encouraged to take notes during class.
