Lecturer Profile

Dr. Walcott received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus in 1992 and went on to complete his Masters of Philosophy in Physics in 1994. Dr. Walcott then went to the United Kingdom to study Computer Vision/Machine Vision at City University, London were he completed his PhD in 1998.

 Dr. Walcott then spent the next six years working with a number of Financial Software companies including Datastream/ICV, Primark, Thomson Financial and Linedata Services (UK) Ltd. where he was part of a team who developed front and back office financial solutions.

 Subsequently, in 2004, he returned to Barbados and joined the Department of Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus as a Lecturer in Computer Science.

 His research interests include software engineering, electronic commerce, computer vision, machine vision and image processing.

 Dr. Paul Walcott will be responsible for lecturing the Electronic Commerce (COMP3210) and Software Engineering I (COMP2145) courses in the fall Semester of 2004.
