In this course we will use Microsoft Access 2000. Microsoft Access is a relational database management system used for the maintenance and retrieval of records. There are two major reasons why Microsoft Access has been chosen as the relational database application for this course. Firstly most persons taking this course will be familiar with one or more applications in Microsoft Office. Microsoft Access is based on the same usability as MS Word, MS Excel and the other Microsoft Office applications. In addition Microsoft Access has become one of the most widely used relational database applications in recent years and has found its place in many homes and offices large and small.
